🦐 Red Super Tiger OE
(also known as Red Lilly)
Red Super Tiger OE / Red Lilly is a high-grade ornamental shrimp from the species
Caridina cf. cantonensis. It belongs to the Tiger shrimp line, selectively bred for intense red coloration and the OE (Orange Eyes) genetic trait.
🔎 Appearance
Body color: deep transparent red to solid ruby red
Pattern: tiger striping (may be light or partially reduced in high grades)
Eyes: bright orange (true OE genetics)
Size: 2–3 cm
Females: larger, deeper red
Males: slimmer, often lighter in color
Higher grades (often called Red Lilly) tend to have:
More solid red coverage
Cleaner coloration
Stronger orange eye contrast
🧬 Genetics
Derived from Super Tiger × Bee/Taiwan Bee lineage
OE (Orange Eyes) is a recessive genetic trait
Selective breeding focuses on:
Intensity of red
Stability of eye color
Pattern reduction or refinement
🌡️ Care Requirements
Like most advanced Caridina lines, they require soft, acidic water:
Temperature: 20–24°C
pH: 5.5–6.5
GH: 4–6
KH: 0–1
TDS: 100–150 ppm
Substrate: active buffering shrimp soil recommended
They are more sensitive than Neocaridina and require stable parameters.
🍃 Behavior
Peaceful and colony-oriented
Best kept in species-only tanks for selective breeding
Feed on biofilm, shrimp food, leaf litter, and blanched vegetables
🧬 Breeding
Breed in freshwater
Moderate difficulty
Stable OE lines require careful pairing
Lower reproduction rate than Neocaridina
