Monosolenium tenerum (often sold incorrectly as “Pellia”) is an aquatic liverwort popular in shrimp and aquascaping tanks for its soft, decorative growth and relatively easy care.

Under strong light it grows faster but can become loose and float away

With CO₂ it grows denser and shows a deeper green color

Optimal: 18–25°C
Tolerates cooler water well (good for Caridina shrimp setups)
pH & hardness
pH: 5.5–7.5
Soft to medium water preferred
🌱 Growth habit & use
Forms soft cushions or mats on hardscape
Does not attach by itself — must be tied or glued to rocks/wood
Can detach and float if not secured properly
Excellent shelter for baby shrimp
Traps detritus, so occasional gentle cleaning is recommended
